Landscape

Organ-on-chip landscape

Organ-on-chip and microphysiological cassette systems already exist. The open gap is access, reproducibility, and public design history.

This is not a new category

Commercial and academic systems already include perfused plates, modular fluidics, reusable cassettes, replaceable inserts, and organ-chip AAV studies.

LaminarForge should be honest about that. The goal is not to claim invention of the whole category.

The gap worth working on

Many existing systems are expensive, quote-only, proprietary, or tied to vendor consumables.

A useful open project can publish the design files, validation failures, build assumptions, and revision history that small labs and independent collaborators need to inspect.
